SUE SERCOMBE is a textile design tutor and will introduce Batic art work using wax and dyes to produce stunning paintings different from what we have seen before

JAN24

PRACTICAL Our first session of the new year so we can show what Father Christmas brought us to use in our artworks

 

FEB 14

DAVID PRESCOTT. Migrated to US in 1978 and developed a deep interest in wild animals. He has raised huge amounts for charities and his works figure in many private collections. Tonight he will present a slide show for us. Don’t miss it.

FEB 28

PRACTICAL After David’s presentation we can come up with our own wild animal concepts as there will have been many ideas suggested by his show

 

 

 

MAR 13

MALCOLM YOUNG will lead us on the subject of BUILDINGS IN LINE AND WASH

This will be new to many of us.  We will see a new approach which will surprise and amaze. Bring your own materials for this workshop

PRACTICAL Why not bring along your photographs and  attempt the techniques  Malcolm uses to present buildings in a new light

CHRIS CALLAGHAN male model makes a welcome return this time offering us  challenges by posing in some costumed guises

PRACTICAL This is the Queen’s Jubilee and Olympic year which must give us lots of ideas for this practical session

BRIAN RUDD will lead a workshop session

so we can produce results that he has developed over many years in this workshop Bring own materials

PRACTICAL Brian was very popular last time and again we can follow on from his workshop

TRIP TO SALFORD LOWRY CENTRE Final arrangements for this to be announced. Please note the change in date to the 7th to accommodate the travel arrangements. A letter will be going out to all members.

FESTIVAL OF FIRSTS EXHIBITION IN HOYLAKE We are reserving space at Community Centre for 7th and 8th July plus space in vacant shop for pre event exhibition. Full details to be announced

OPEN EVENING   Details to follow and it will be based on format of previous evenings. If you have ideas or comments please advise committee as soon as you can

SEP 6-9

SWAS EXHIBITION  at St.Thomas Church , Parkgate from 6th to 9th September to co-inside with the National  Heritage Open Days event. Details to follow so get start now on your entries.

SEP 25

CHRIS  SMITH  specialises in glass and enamel ware. She will lead a workshop and we will produce our own small masterpieces. Materials provided but bring a pair of pliers and some foil sweet wrappers

ERIC PEAKE LECTURE/SLIDE SHOW Eric is an international artist who has produced  over 1300 finely detailed bird paintings, and has raised vast amounts for charity over his career. North Wales born before migrating to USA where he teaches and exhibits. Every 8 years he holds an  exhibition at the Theatre Clwyd  Mold.

PRACTICAL We can only strive to paint like Eric. Let’s try and paint/draw parrots. Eric’s watercolours  have sold for many thousands of dollars so we have a good master  to help us. If you miss his 2011 Mold exhibition you have a long wait for the next
